How to get to the HZDR Research Site Leipzig

The HZDR Research Site Leipzig is located on the premises of the Wissenschaftspark Leipzig close to the Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ. It traces back to the Institute for Isotope Research (IIF), founded in 1998 and integrated into the HZDR on January 1, 2010.

Directions to the HZDR Research Site Leipzig

  • By car:
    On A14 highway take exit marked "Leipzig-Ost" and head for Stadtzentrum - City Center (~ 4 km). The main entrance of the "Wissenschaftspark" is on your right hand side.
  • By train:
    From Leipzig Central Station take tram No. 3 in the "Sommerfeld" direction or in the "Taucha" direction. After about 15 minutes get out at stop "Torgauer/ Permoserstraße", cross the street and follow the street Permoserstraße in eastern direction. After about 200 metres you will find the main entrance of the "Wissenschaftspark".
  • By plane:
    From Leipzig/Halle Airport, take the train (regional express) to the Leipzig Central Station. From the Central Station, take tram No. 3 in the "Sommerfeld" direction or in the "Taucha" direction.
  • By taxi:
    A taxi from Leipzig Central Station to the Wissenschaftspark/UFZ costs about EURO 10. The fare from Leipzig-Halle Airport is about EURO 30.
