- Mineral-water interfaces and interfacial reactions with (radioactive) contaminants
- Application of spectroscopy, in particular ATR FT-IR spectroscopy for in-situ probing the molecular environment of aqueous solutions, surfaces and interfaces
- Safety of nuclear waste repositories
