No space for racism and discrimination

The Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) condemns all forms of discrimination and racism. "In no area of our society can we tolerate or simply condone exclusion based on ethnic origin, skin color, nationality, religion, culture, age, disability, sexual identity, gender or pregnancy", emphasizes HZDR’s Scientific Director, Prof. Sebastian M. Schmidt. “The HZDR stands for diversity, because diversity means wealth. Our scientific excellence depends on our open-mindedness to the new and the seemingly foreign. A climate of exclusion and discrimination is detrimental to scientific knowledge. Our center and all other research institutions in Saxony and Germany need the knowledge, skills and talents of gifted people – no matter where they come from. This is the only way we can solve the pressing questions and challenges of our time. We have no space at our center for people who don't want to support these values.”
