The HZDR would like to offer its postdocs a comprehensive qualification phase. This qualification includes not only the competence for independent teaching and research; successful technology transfer is also one of the tasks of future researchers at universities and non-university research institutions. In addition, it is a declared goal to support young scientists by improving the transition from the phase of scientific qualification to jobs in business and society.

The program therefore offers postdocs the opportunity to get to know companies and organizations (including offices and authorities) as part of an internship of up to 3 months within their contract at the HZDR and in the period from January 1st, 2023 to March 31st, 2024. The postdocs will continue to receive their full salary and all HZDR benefits under HR law, and in the meantime they can get to know another employer and work on a project there that they agreed on in advance and with the help of the Postdoc Center. The purpose of this stay is the career orientation of the postdocs between science and business / technology transfer / public sector, in the sense of a non-scientific further qualification.

What requirements do you have to bring along? You...

• possess a PhD
• have a job in science OR in science management

Irrespective of the financing of your employment relationship, an individual aptitude test will be carried out by the HR department in consultation with your institute and supervisor.
