Research Activities
The scientific activities of the nuclear physics division concentrate on applied nuclear physics covering nuclear astrophysics, nuclear structure physics for research and technology, materials science using positron annihilation spectroscopy, and the development of detectors for basic science and medical applications.
I am member of the R3B (Reactions with Relativistic Radioactive Beams) collaboration which conducts experiments at Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung GSI and the future FAIR facility.
I act as a chair-elect of the collaboration board of the Helmholtz portfolio initiative "Detector Technologies and Systems" and I am responsible for the activities at HZDR.
