Registration opens for the International Science Conference "Building Bridges for the Next Generations"

Building on last year's success, the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), on behalf of the Saxon State Chancellery, is once again organizing the science conference Building Bridges for the Next Generations. This year's conference, focusing on the "Net Zero" theme, will be held on May 27 and 28, 2024, at the International Congress Center in Dresden.

The conference will showcase outstanding research in Europe, particularly from Saxony, Slovenia, Poland, and the Czech Republic, aiming to establish the region as a significant hub for science and technology. Under the overarching theme of "Net Zero" the conference will focus on forward-looking fields such as microelectronics, sustainable construction, hydrogen technology, and fusion.

Primarily targeting early-career researchers, the conference offers a platform to engage with representatives from politics, industry, and society. The event provides the opportunity to build a network across disciplines and borders within the scientific community, laying the groundwork for long-term international collaborations. It also allows the attendees to establish connections with key decision-makers in politics, industry, and academia.

Professor Benjamin Sovacool, Director of the Institute for Global Sustainability at Boston University, will deliver the keynote speech on the morning of May 28, 2024.

Another highlight of the conference is the panel discussion on the evening of May 28, starting at 4:45 PM, where Michael Kretschmer, the Minister-President of Saxony, will engage with government representatives from various countries and early-career scientists.

Interested participants are invited to secure their spot by registering now. Participation is complimentary.
