Dresden

Dresden is the capital of Saxony, situated in the southeast of Germany. For over 800 years, Dresden has been the cultural center of the region and was the residence for Saxon princes and kings for centuries. Today, Dresden is one of the largest scientific and industrial centers of Germany hosting besides the Technical University of Dresden, three Helmholtz, three Max-Planck, three Leibniz and eight Fraunhofer institutions with HZDR as the largest research institution in Saxony.

The conference venue in the Penck Hotel Dresden is situated close to the historic center of Dresden in walking distance to Zwinger, opera, castle, and Frauenkirche. It can be reached conveniently by public transport either from Dresden airport or from the two train stations Dresden- Neustadt and Dresden central station.
