HZDR Lectures 2010/2011

From Leibniz to Helmholtz - Researching in a new association

The research center Forschungszentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (FZD) will become the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden Rossendorf (HZDR). That is why the new “HZDR Lectures” series will revolve around those current topics of the Helmholtz community which are also addressed by the FZD researchers.

We are proud to announce that we have managed to book six high ranking experts with most of them coming from the Helmholtz Association. We are convinced that the Helmholtz perspective of joint issues will illuminate our own approaches, perhaps even examine these issues critically while at the same time focusing the visions and encouraging new and even closer cooperation. The speakers will also briefly introduce the structures prevailing in the diverse Helmholtz research fields which will certainly help HZDR scientists orient themselves better within the new association.

After the presentations, which will encompass the three exciting research programs of the new Helmholtz Center in Dresden, participants will have the opportunity of discussing and exchanging their views over some pretzels and beer.
